IV. Video/Action for Route 34 + Text
Video/Action:
[The video feed doesn't show Gorthan anywhere, but those are some pretty good shots of the sea from the beach on Route 34. It appears that the scientist is using the cam to film his newly evolved Gallade as the Pokémon uses his Confusion attack to levitate poor, defenseless Tentacool out of the water, sometimes two or three at a time. Then, once they're within close range, Gallade proceeds to kick their jellyfish butts by quickly slashing them with Psycho Cut and Leaf Blade before launching them back into the water. The process is repeated four or five times throughout the video - it's hard to tell exactly how many times it is, since the succession is incredibly fast, more than one jellyfish occasionally go down at once, and the whole video doesn't last longer than a minute and a half. And through most of that time, Gallade is hardly more than a white and green blur, his sword-like arms and lithe body moving at amazing speed.
And this is why Gorthan wanted his Kirlia to evolve into the Fighting and Psychic type. The entire spectacle is a pretty good mix of sadistic and completely awesome, with water sprinkling in all directions while Gallade makes fast, precise movements, as if dancing in a light drizzle glittering in the sunlight. Why, if it weren't cruel and punctuated by the sounds of Tentacool being brutally crushed, it would be pretty beautiful.]
Text to Robin:
Thank you for the Christmas present. I have my own copy of it at home, of course. But it is one of my absolute favorites, and I was actually looking forward to an opportunity to reread it. Again, thank you infinitely.
... On another note. What were you thinking? If you *are* going to do such things, at least have the decency to be more cautious.
Text to Kimblee:
Thank you for the Christmas present, especially for the stories. As regards your illuminating book review, I am amazed at your utter lack of empathy towards the characters and their respective situations. Then again, knowing you, perhaps I shouldn't be.
Text to Cobra Commander:
Thank you for the Christmas present. How did you obtain it? It appears to be a very rare and valuable item.
Did you enjoy my present to you? If you have any questions concerning it, I will be pleased to answer them.
Long-ass Text to Fuu:
Dearest Fuu,
First of all, allow me to sincerely thank you for the Christmas presents. I promise I will take good care of the hatchling. I must confess that having to display kindness will be somewhat of a challenge for me. For you, however, I shall do it. And so I thank you for providing an opportunity for my own betterment as an individual. The scarf is also beautiful. I assume it alludes to the Psychic type...? If so, I am even more pleased - it is one of the Pokémon types I find most interesting. Either way, it is a splendid accessory, as well as useful to have in this season. So thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.
What do you think of the present I sent you? Have you read it before?
I have a proposal for you, Fuu. I have been working rather strenuously these past few weeks. Mine is a line of work that knows no holidays, you see, and I am sure that yours is comparable. I believe I have deserved a break of sorts - I was thinking a week. And I was also thinking I wanted to see Ecruteak City. Would you come with me on such a trip? I am aware that the season is not quite ideal for such projects, but I believe that if we left in the early morning, we would arrive there long before sunset. What do you say? I will be eagerly awaiting your answer.
Yours, always,
Gorthan
